Hey, this is my first blog so it might not be the best. So far, im on page 76, and Johnny just had his trial for "stealling" the cup from the Lytes. He Just got put in jail. In the beginning, Johnny is a silversmiths aprentice. He is really good, and the ruler of the house. He even tells Mr. Lapham what to do. He doesnt haeve to do any hard work, because he is to valuble for that type of thing. So anyways, one day Mr. Hanckock walked into the shop. He wants a scaled up replica of a nice silver dish made for him. Johnny, while looking at the dish, remarks that the craftmen ship is that of John Coney. Hanckock replies "look at the mark on the bottom. The creamer and whole set was made by your master 40 years ago." That really suprises Johnny. Then he leaves. The next sunday, the day before the dish is supposed to be done, Johnny is rushed because the dish isnt even close. SO they hav to work on sunday, something that is simply not done. So when he asks for a ccucible, one of the other boys in the shop hands im the cracked one because he didnt believe they should be working on the cup. The cup breaks and molten silver is spilt on Johnny's hand, causing the fingers to fuse to his hand. Mr. Lapham kicks him out for breaking the sabath and because he couldnt work. So he packs up all his posesions, witch is like his clothes on his back. Hey has a hard time getting a job because of his hand. So he goes up to Mr. Lyte to show him a cup that his mother gave him to show that he was part of of the Lyte clan. Mr. Lyte accuses him of theft and brings him to court. That is how far ive gotten. I like this book. I think ill hav a good time finishing reading it.
